Dear Narragansett School Families,
Partners in Education (PIE) is a group of interested parents, teachers and administrators who work for the benefit of Narragansett School. Each year, the group works toward the following goals:
- to provide a bridge between home and school;
- to improve the appearance of the school;
- to bring more enrichment and cultural diversity to the Narragansett community;
- to provide support to Narragansett families in need;
- to encourage parental participation in PIE and PIE activities; and
- to promote awareness of wellness and safety in the Narragansett community.
PIE conducts one fundraiser at the beginning of the year, and then, based on the funds raised, identifies activities that support the goals. The following are some of the activities and projects that have been supported by PIE: visiting artists and authors, Bingo Night, Empty Bowls & Jammies, Geography & Multicultural Night, 5K & Fun Run, STEM Night, Art Show & Ice Cream Social, and summer tutoring scholarships for students.
We invite all parents to attend our first PIE Meeting of the year. It will be held in Room 13 from 6:00-7:30 on Monday, September 14th. Remaining meeting dates are as follows:
October 5*,
November 9,
December 14,
January 11,
February 8,
March 14,
April 11,
May 9, and June 13.
This year we will be trying something new; parental leadership within PIE. More specifically, we are looking for two parents that may like to hold the title of PIE Co-Presidents and lead the work of the group. In the event you are considering this possibility, please contact me through e-mail or phone.
We look forward to seeing many families on Sept. 14th.
Sincerely,
Cynthia Remick
