Dear Narragansett Staff and Families,

Yesterday, Narragansett School was honored by a visit from the Maine Department of Education’s Commissioner, Jim Rier, and members of his staff. We received a Certificate of Achievement based on high student performance and growth and earned an A in the 2014 Maine School Performance Grading System. Based on improvements in math and reading proficiency, we were recognized for being in the top 25 Maine elementary schools for the growth of all students, and in the top 25 Maine elementary schools for improvements in math and reading proficiency of our most struggling students. The report card is based on assessment data from the 2012-2013 school year.

The credit goes to everyone - from the students and their families, to our hardworking staff, each of us plays an important role in contributing to the school culture. We have high expectations and a dynamic work ethic, with individual progress as the goal.

We couldn’t be prouder! My sincere thanks are extended to you all for your enduring support of your children and our students.

Sincerely

Polly Brann
