Information about a Public Meeting
and Early Release Procedure

January 26, 2011

Dear Narragansett Parents,

Following is information about an upcoming opportunity and an important reminder for you.

SUPERINTENDENT AND SCHOOL COMMITTEE VISIT

On Tuesday, February 1st, from 6:00-7:30, you will have the opportunity to hear the latest information on the transition to three K-5 schools, the budget process, and other current topics.  Again this year, we will be hosting the Superintendent of Schools, Ted Sharp, and two members of the School Committee, Polly Shields and Roger Marchand.  This is a public meeting and you all are invited to attend.  We will meet in the Staff Room.  Please bring your questions - we hope to see you then!

WEATHER EARLY RELEASE

We have had to dismiss our students early due to weather once so far this year.  It is our practice to make sure we have talked to a human (not a machine) to let each family know that we will be getting out early.  We want the kids tobe safe.  Narragansett dismisses at 12:00 when this happens.   Last fall, you filled out a document that tells us where to send your child in case we dismiss early.  Please help us in our work by making sure your information is updated. We need your current phone(s) and where the child will go should this happen again.  Please send any changes to your child’s teacher.

Respectfully,
Polly Brann
Principal
